Abstract

The paper examines the propagation of magneto-viscoelastic waves in a perfectly conducting plate based on Kirchhoff's hypothesis. To describe the propagation of magneto-viscoelastic waves, the Lamé differential equation with operator coefficients is used. The viscoelastic properties of the material obey the hereditary integral Boltzmann–Wolter relation. For a magnet-elastic plate, the characteristic equation of Rayleigh surface waves is obtained. It was found that in the problem under consideration, even in the magnet-elastic case, wave dispersion occurs. Comparisons of the obtained results with exact solutions are given.
