Abstract

This article discusses the issue of using a language portfolio in English lessons as a technology for self-assessment and assessment of students’ language experience. The author reveals the essence of the concept of “language portfolio”, describes the purpose, structure, functions of the language portfolio, and considers the types of language portfolios. The author shares her experience of using a language portfolio in English lessons.
