Abstract

The institutional structure of stock markets plays a critical role in shaping financial markets and promoting economic growth. This academic essay examines the institutional structures of stock markets in five countries—the US, Russia, Japan, the UK, and China—and highlights their similarities and differences. The paper also discusses how these structures contribute to market efficiency, transparency, and investor protection in each country.
